Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and the work you ask Stonecraft Edinburg Concrete and Masonry to do. By using the site, calling us or sending a request, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Any job we do also has its own written estimate or agreement. If that paper and these terms say different things, the written agreement for your job wins, because it covers your house and your work. You can go back to the home page at any time.
What we do
We're a masonry contractor in Edinburg, TX, and we also do concrete work for homeowners in Edinburg and the cities around it. That covers brick, block, stone, pavers, retaining walls, chimneys, fireplaces, foundation work and similar jobs. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
What's on this site describes the kind of work we do in general terms. It isn't a promise that we can take on any particular job, because we only know that after we've seen your property.
Estimates and pricing
We give free on-site estimates, with no pressure to book. Your estimate is written for your job and says what work is included, what materials we plan to use and how long the price holds.
The price can change if we find something we couldn't see at the estimate, like a cracked footing behind a wall, rotted backing under veneer or soil that won't hold a base. When that happens, we stop, show you what we found and agree on any change with you in writing before we keep going.
If you ask for extra work or a different material partway through, we'll write up the change and the new price, and we start that work only once you've approved it.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
Start and finish dates are our best estimate when we give them. Rain, heat, material delivery and the time mortar and concrete need to cure can move the schedule, and we'll tell you as soon as we know a date is going to shift.
You need to give our crew safe access to the work area and let us know about anything that affects the job, like sprinkler lines, buried utilities you know of, pets or gate codes.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call or message us as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or started work, you may owe for those costs, as your written agreement explains.
Payment
Your written estimate or agreement sets any deposit, any progress payments and when the balance is due. If it doesn't say otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled and use the remedies Texas law allows to collect what's owed. We'd much rather talk it through first, so call us if something about a bill doesn't look right.
Permits, property lines and approvals
Some masonry and concrete work needs a permit from the city, and some doesn't. Your written agreement says who is responsible for checking and pulling any permit your job needs.
You're responsible for knowing where your property lines are and for getting any approval your homeowners association requires before we start, because we build where you tell us the work belongs.
Our work and warranty limits
We stand behind our work, and any written warranty for your job is the one in your agreement. It doesn't cover damage from things outside our control, like ground movement, flooding, roots, vehicles, other trades or changes someone else makes later.
Brick, stone and concrete are natural materials. Color and texture vary from batch to batch, new mortar won't match old mortar exactly on day one, and concrete can form small hairline cracks as it cures, so those aren't defects on their own.
This website and everything on it is offered as is. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't promise it's complete or free of errors, and it isn't advice for your specific property.
Limits on our liability
We're licensed and insured. As far as Texas law allows, our responsibility for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We aren't responsible for indirect losses, like lost use of part of your property, or for problems caused by conditions that were hidden and that you knew about but didn't tell us. Nothing in these terms limits a right Texas law says can't be limited.
Settling disagreements
If you're unhappy with something, tell us first. Most problems get fixed fastest when we come back out, look at it together and agree on what to do.
If we can't settle it that way, either of us may ask for mediation before going to court. Any case goes to the courts serving the county where the work was done.
Texas law applies
These terms and any job we do are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, where we're based and where we work.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the current one. Changes don't reach back to a job already covered by a signed agreement.
